Walking (Tuesday 1) 25/26 DISC


Group Description :
Walks on Tuesdays, from September to May, will be of 6 to 8 miles in length, with some climbing and at a moderate pace. The walks will also involve exploring interesting places and observing wildlife where possible.  The walks the Group has tackled in recent years are shown below under "All Completed Walks", A map showing the location of all these walks can be seen by clicking on the "previous walks" tab top right.

The Group meets at Astbury Mere and drive to the start of the walk, within a radius of approx 30 miles, up to an hour's driving from Congleton, sharing cars and costs. Alternatively members meet at the start of the walk.

All Group members are expected to offer to lead 2 walks a year.  You do not have to discover new bits of countryside, there are over 300 walks detailed below which you could use.

Waterproof jacket and over trousers are essential, as are reasonable walking boots/shoes.
Walking Poles (or Pole) can be useful on uneven ground.

Packed lunches and hot drinks are also required.
Sorry no dogs allowed.

Year 24/25 Members of the group will be given priority for 25/26 but there are spaces so please contact us if you would like to join.
