The Music Appreciation Group has weekly programmes given by members of the group. These programmes are very varied because each member has a different interest and experience.
Sometimes there is a theme - space, birds, rivers, a country, a musician or an instrument. The music within each programme is mixed; it may contain folk, film ,theatre, church, military, ballet, opera, 'classical' or a mixture. Frequently a piece is played which only a few know, or a story is explained and an interest grows. The equipment used gives superb sound. It will play tapes, vinyl, cds and dvds. Some members prefer to use blue tooth as we have a wireless connection available in the hall.
Frequently, a programme will contain audio and visual, so it is exciting, fun and relaxing. It is not a condition that members must give a programme but we do have "Own Choice" sessions (usually 3 per term), when members provide music lasting around 5 minutes, resulting in an eclectic mix of music for that session.
