We walk throughout the year and we usually do walks of between 2 and 3 miles within a 10 mile radius of Congleton. Some walks are very local. The walk may involve a stile or two and some up and down but nothing too strenuous. Most of our walks start from a pub where we finish and have lunch. We meet at the chosen pub car park although sometimes we park near the start of a walk and then drive a short distance to a nearby pub after the walk . Members are encouraged to lead walks themselves if possible and to book the pub lunch for the group. Sociability is the name of the game in our walking group. We walk at a gentle pace with the aim of allowing members who are unable to put in the miles of previous years to keep on walking and maintain their optimum level of fitness. We are also happy to welcome members who walk with us on a temporary basis, for example rehabilitation after injury, before they return to longer walks. Members need sensible footwear , waterproofs etc and walking poles can be a good idea. We don’t allow dogs on the walks. Walk details (Starting point/pub, length of walk ) are sent by email to all members a few days before the walk.
